Parent / carer involvement has proven benefits to your child’s learning. At Windsor Primary School we encourage parents to play an active role in our school community via a number of channels including Parents & Friends, School Council, lending a hand at sports carnivals and other events. A Working With Children Check is mandatory - apply / renew here.
Parents and Friends Association
Our Parents and Friends Association (P&F) brings together families, staff, and community members to support and enrich Windsor Primary. The P&F plans events that build community, promote inclusivity, and raise funds for vital programs. There are many ways to get involved—even if you’re unavailable during school hours. Help with events, write grant applications, or support behind the scenes. If you’re interested in getting involved, please leave your name at the office or email windsor.ps@education.vic.gov.au
School Council
Windsor Primary School has a dedicated School Council made up of 12 members: 6 parents, 4 staff, and 2 community members. School councils in Victoria help shape the direction of their schools and play a key role in decision-making. Our council oversees the school’s strategic plan, budget, educational policies, facilities, student code of conduct, and annual report. Meetings are held twice per term on Wednesday evenings at 6pm onsite or online, with all members also participating in sub-committees. Elections take place annually, with notices published in the school newsletter each February. It’s a great way to contribute to our school community.
