The safe learning environment at Windsor Primary School includes wellbeing programs that encourage harmony within the school and its community. Our goal is to develop physically and emotionally healthy, happy, productive, and respectful students who can deal positively with life’s challenges.
Key wellbeing programs include Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationship, Calmer Classrooms and School Wide Positive Behaviours. Supporting these cornerstone programs, we also provide several additional activities, approaches and workshops.
Lunchtime activities
To make lunchtimes fun and engaging for all students, especially those who thrive with structure or want to explore new interests, we offer a variety of exciting lunchtime activities. There’s something for everyone—from creative art sessions and music to quiet time in the library, indoor games, and active outdoor sports.
Cybersafety education
Our school takes a safe and responsible approach towards information and communications technology. We encourage the benefits of technology while being very aware of the risks involved. We teach healthy digital habits and cyber safety with the students and take part in activities and seminars such as Inform & Empower. For more detailed information on helping children stay safe online visit Australia’s eSafety Commissioner website at esafety.gov.au.
Anti-bullying
At Windsor Primary School we focus on creating safe and inclusive spaces. We value our diversity, promote and acceptance of all. We treat reports of bullying (including cyberbullying) very seriously and with clear consistent action using restorative techniques.
Strong focus on attendance
Evidence shows that daily school attendance is important for young people to succeed in education and aids wellbeing by ensuring they don’t fall behind both socially and developmentally. Students who regularly attend school and complete Year 12 or an equivalent qualification have better health outcomes, better employment outcomes, and higher incomes across their lives. At Windsor Primary School we are committed to providing your child with an excellent education, however the building blocks of a great education begin with all students coming to school each and every day.
Support services
We offer a range of support services for families, including access to Allied Health professionals such as a Speech Pathologist and Psychologist. These services may be accessed when concerns arise around a child’s communication, learning, behaviour, or emotional wellbeing.
Translators are also available to support families who speak languages other than English, ensuring clear communication during meetings, assessments, or when important school information is shared.
Disability Inclusion Program
Windsor Primary School supports students with a disability by providing tailored adjustments and additional resources to help them thrive at school. Support may include access to an education support who works alongside the student within the classroom. Students who meet the criteria set by the Department of Education may also be eligible for further assistance through the Disability Inclusion Program or other relevant support services.
