Windsor Primary School Foundation (Prep) Enrolment

Our school zone

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au, which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.

Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.

Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school if there are available places.

For more information, you can:

2025 Foundation (Prep) enrolments

The first year of primary school is called Foundation or Prep. The Department of Education (DE) has released a new statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Windsor Primary School.

You can find information and resources about the enrolment timeline at: Enrolling in Foundation (Prep).

You will be able to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2025 at Windsor Primary School from 15 April 2024.

Contact our school Windsor Primary on 9521 3711 to book a school tour or to learn more about our school and the enrolment process.

We warmly welcome students and families from all zones.

When you are ready to enrol, to make it as easy for you as possible, please make sure that:

  • Your child must be 5 years old by 30 April in the year that they start school. Schooling is compulsory for children who have turned 6 years old.

  • You complete an enrolment form (also included in the information pack) and submit it and the following documents - in person - to the school office (the originals must be sighted and copied by our office team):

  • Evidence of Date of Birth – a copy of your child’s Birth Certificate

  • Immunisation History Statement – available via MyGov portal, or the Australian Childhood Immunisation register (T: 1800 653 809, E: acir@medicareaustralia.gov.au). In the event your child is not immunised due to parental objection, the certificate will need to indicate this information from the immunisation provider. If your child has never been vaccinated or was vaccinated overseas, then contact the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR) to assist you in obtaining a school entry immunisation status certificate. Regardless of immunisation status all children are eligible to be enrolled at a government school

  • Proof of address - E.g. current lease, rates notice or utility bill

  • International Student Enrolments – all International Student classification enrolments must be done through the Department of Education International Student Division.  Contact can be made through +61 3 9637 2990 or international@edumail.vic.gov.au

  • Copy of Visa Status - for students who are non-residents.
