PRINCIPAL'S NEWS

Hi Everyone,

My name is Jacquie Burrows, and I am truly honoured to join this wonderful school as your new principal. I want to thank you for the warm welcome I've already received.

I have had the privilege of serving in a range of educational leadership roles throughout my career. My leadership has focused on improving student learning outcomes, promoting wellbeing, and fostering evidence-informed teaching practices that support every learner to thrive.

I have been fortunate to have my work recognised through the 2024 Outstanding Primary Principal Award and the Lindsay Thompson Award for Excellence in Education - the highest individual honour in the Victorian Education Excellence Awards.

I am excited for the journey ahead and all that we will achieve together. If you need to contact me for any reason, please call the school office.

Jacquie

Foundation (Prep) Enrolment 2027

Apply now to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) for 2027

All Victorian government primary schools follow a statewide timeline for enrolling in Foundation (Prep) for the 2027 school year.

If you have a child starting primary school in 2027, it’s time to enrol. Make sure to submit your enrolment application by Friday 31 July 2026

If you are enrolling the sibling of a student at our school for Foundation in 2027, and both children will be attending our school at the same time, your child is prioritised for a place at our school.

It is important to submit your enrolment application to us on time as it will ensure your child is included in all transition activities if offered enrolment at our school. This also allows us to plan our classrooms, staffing and transition activities, and ensures your child has the best start to school.

CLASSROOM NEWS

Foundation

Year 5 & 6

This term, 5/6 is reading How to Bee by Bren MacDibble as our class novel. Set in a dystopian future shaped by environmental collapse, the book will form the basis of a series of lessons in which students analyse the text and learn to write in a journalistic style.

Pictured below are the front covers from the students' own copies.

Thanks,
Tom and Kieran

PARENTS & FRIENDS

G’day! This is Jessie the current head of the parents and friends committee- looking forward to another great term and on behalf of the committee I would like to welcome our new principal Jacquie to the Windsor family.

Each term the committee aims to have 1 large community special event, on top of our regular events including the end of term cake stall/secondhand uniform stall, hot chocolate Fridays and community morning tea. This terms special event is set to be our September Spring Market and we are all really excited to see what everyone has on offer.

There will be a break from Toasties Tuesday this term but please don’t forget that we still have a free community pantry every Thursday in the hall so please come and help yourself. There’s still lunch orders you can order on Monday & Friday's. (though new providers are being explored) and again, those delicious hot chocolates on Friday (if you bring your own cup I hear you even get an extra marshmallow)

On Thursdays at 3:30 there is also a short soccer match hosted by the dads of Windsor that is a lot of fun to watch especially when certain unnamed competitive staff members get involved, so please come on down for a friendly match (or bring some popcorn and watch) and a big thank you to the fathers of Windsor for making it happen.

The community morning tea is held on Fridays opposing school assembly, if you want to pop into the staff room after drop off for a cuppa, chat and you can let me know what you think of my baking skills.

Please consider joining the P &F WhatsApp community for volunteering opportunities, fundraising suggestions or if you would like to get involved with gardening https://chat.whatsapp.com/DmpPTqBg8mT0WMeAymbozg

Stay warm everyone,
Jessie (Maisie’s mum 3/4A)

Hot Chocolate Friday

Come and grab a warm hot chocolate with marshmallows at 3:30pm on Friday's, only $2 at the Food Tech window. Bring your own mug and receive an extra marshmallow!
