Welcome to the new school year at Windsor Primary. I do hope that everyone had an enjoyable summer break; it has been wonderful to hear what the students did during their holidays and some of the amazing places they went to.
A big welcome to our 2026 Prep students and their families. The students have transitioned into their first term of school very well. A big thank you to everyone involved. Another big welcome to our new families in other year levels as well and in particular to our international families who have the opportunity to experience everything that is wonderful about Windsor Primary. We look forward to getting to know you and ensuring that you have a wonderful time.
It has been a smooth start to our year and a lot of that is to do with the effort that the staff have put into planning and implementing a program that equally focuses on the students knowing that they belong here at Windsor and that they are in an environment where they can individually and collectively thrive, but also the clear expectations on them as individuals and as a collective.
We also welcome Kieran McIntyre to Windsor. Kieran joins our senior school team as the teacher of 5/6B.
Summer Facility Works
There were minor facilities works over the summer break. Greening the front gardens continued, some additional greening of the laneway and the toilet walkway and repairing of the irrigation system in a number of areas. Unfortunately, when our cleaners were trying to clean our hall floor, they used some incorrect chemicals that resulted in the floor polish being damaged. The cleaners have taken full responsibility and are looking to repair the damage. Another frustrating situation is the lack of department response in repairing the lifting corridor floor in the main building. We will continue to request action.
Parent Payments
Families will have received their parent payment invoices recently. Parent contributions make such a difference to the school budget; parent payments cover the consumable resources that school uses to support student learning. These consumables are not covered by government funding and any money that the school needs to spend on consumables comes from the budget areas that government funding does cover. Please attend to the parent payments as quickly as possible so budgets can be finalised, and the school can plan the year’s spending.
Privacy & Information Sharing
It is this time of year that the Department of Education (DOE) asks schools to remind families of the Schools Privacy & Information Sharing policy and the Photographing, Filming and Recording Students policy.
The school collects and uses student and parent personal information for standard school functions or where permitted by law as stated in the policy. We also collect and use photographs, video and recordings of students. The policy explains how these are used and explains when parent consent is required and how it can be provided and withdrawn.
This is one example of the policies that the school must make available to parents and carers. The platform that we use to share these policies is the school website. Below is a link to the policy page of our website where all community shared policies are available.

Prahran High School Tours
Windsor Primary School is a feeder school to Prahran High School. Families of our Year 6 students are now thinking about 2027 with preferences for secondary schools required in May. The majority of our graduating students do go to Prahran High School and we hear wonderful things from them. In particular to our Year 5 and Year 6 families, please see a flyer regarding tours of Prahran High School and bookings can be made using the link below.
Bookings can be made via the school website or
